It is our desire to “give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness and . . sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High: (Psalm 7:17). God commands us to “Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name” (Psalm 30:4). Our aim and ambition in every choir at Mount Calvary Baptist Church is to be worshippers who worship him in Spirit and Truth (John 4:1-26).
Youth Praise Choir
“Train up a child the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Teens have lots of contagious energy. The Youth Praise Choir is a training ground for teaching the children to sing praises and to live a life that blesses God. The Praise Choir exemplifies and spreads their energy with their exciting upbeat contemporary sound as they lead the congregation in worship on the fourth Sundays. Members of the choir range in age from 8 – 18.
The Sanctuary Choir consists of persons aged 18 and above and uses the contemporary and traditional style of church music to up lift the Lord on the first and third Sundays.
The Male Choir can be heard leading the congregation in a hand clapping, foot stomping good time in the Lord on the second Sundays. The choir consists of persons aged 18 and above.
The Mass choir is formed when you put all the above choirs together to lead worship on special days throughout the year.
This dance ministry is composed of young people ages 7 – 15 who are regular attendees of Sunday School or Bible Study. Dancers must be willing to follow the guidelines, rehearsal schedules and ministerial engagements.
