Welcome to the Christian Education blog! In conjunction with the new Mount Calvary Baptist Church website (mtcalvaryknox.com), we launch a weekly Christian Education blog.

In this blog, I hope to help you think through everyday life with a Christian worldview. It will include contemporary events and issues that impact our lives. You will have the opportunity to comment, and I welcome your discussion.

Here are a few guidelines for your comments:

• Before commenting, understand what others say: “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James 1:19 NIV).
• Be gracious and patient with others: “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:6 NIV). Do not use profanity.
• Give thanks for the blog and comments that help you: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16 NIV).
• Encourage others: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV).
• Use Scripture, not feelings. It is good to be passionate, but base your comments on Scripture.
